July was a memorable and productive month for our team at Sports & Entertainment Travel, marked by collaboration, connection, and preparation for the busy season ahead. From strategic planning to meaningful time with our partners, July gave us the opportunity to recharge, regroup, and gear up before we hit the road again soon. With football season just around the corner, it was the perfect time to align our goals, reconnect as a team, and look ahead to what’s next.

Ready, SET, Retreat

We kicked things off with a summer staff retreat in beautiful Hayward, Wisconsin. Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Northwoods, our team spent time out on Moose Lake, stargazed under clear skies, and took in some unforgettable sunsets. The peaceful setting provided the perfect backdrop to unwind and reconnect!

Our time together wasn’t just about relaxing (though we definitely made time for that). It was also about setting the tone for the months ahead. We held strategic planning sessions focused on upcoming fall programs, client service goals, and how we can continue to elevate the fan and donor travel experience. The energy, ideas, and collaboration that came out of those sessions have us excited and aligned heading into football season.

Summer CAMMP

Later in the month, a few members of our team traveled to Ann Arbor to attend CAMMP (Council of Alumni Marketing & Membership Professionals) at the University of Michigan. The conference brought together a fantastic group of alumni relations and marketing professionals from across the country, all dedicated to building strong engagement and loyalty among their fan bases.

Over the course of the week, we had the opportunity to learn, share ideas, and connect with both new faces and familiar partners. Whether it was a hallway conversation, a coffee chat, or a dinner sharing ideas, the connections made were meaningful and energizing. It was a great reminder of the power of collaboration across the industry and how valuable it is to work with people who share our passion for creating unforgettable experiences.

College Football Is Almost Back!

As July comes to a close, we’re proud of the momentum we’ve built and grateful for the time spent with our team and industry peers. The planning is in motion, the partnerships are in place, and now we’re counting down the days.

August marks the official kickoff of football season, and we can’t wait to be back on the road with our clients, partners, and fans across the country. From big rivalry weekends to premium donor experiences, we’re looking forward to another exciting season of travel, tradition, and team spirit.

If you’re looking to travel this football season, or if you’re interested in a custom experience for your alumni or donor base, reach out today. We’d love to see you on the road!

The Rundown

Bowl season is always one of the most exciting times of the year in college athletics travel, and this postseason was one for the books at Sports & Entertainment Travel. From playoff games to iconic New Year’s bowls, our team was on the move coast to coast, delivering first-class experiences for partners and travelers alike.

Going into the postseason, SET was proud to be supporting half of the College Football Playoff field, working with Tulane, Texas Tech, Alabama, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Texas A&M. As the postseason unfolded, plans turned into unforgettable moments, milestone trips, and celebrations in some of college football’s most storied destinations.

One of the standout moments of the postseason was our first ever College Football Playoff First Round trip, traveling to Oxford, Mississippi, for the Tulane vs. Ole Miss matchup. Launching a brand-new playoff travel experience while delivering the seamless execution SET is known for was a major milestone for our team and an exciting glimpse into the future of playoff travel.

From there, our bowl season momentum only grew. SET staff and travelers crossed the country, supporting programs in marquee bowls like the Pinstripe Bowl, the Las Vegas Bowl, and the Citrus Bowl, among many others. No matter the city or kickoff time, our focus remained the same: creating elevated, stress-free travel experiences that allow fans and donors to focus on what matters most, celebrating their team.

The Highlights

One of the most unique highlights of the season was experiencing both sides of the Orange Bowl, traveling with Oregon and Texas Tech to Miami. Ringing in the New Year in South Florida with two incredible fan bases made for a truly special week, filled with sunshine, celebration, and unforgettable postseason energy.

Another iconic New Year’s celebration came out west, where SET supported Alabama at the Rose Bowl. Few stages in college football compare to Pasadena on January 1, and being part of another historic Rose Bowl experience was a reminder of why bowl season travel is so meaningful for fans and programs alike.

Across every destination, our team worked behind the scenes to ensure smooth logistics, elevated events, and memorable moments, all while representing SET’s commitment to excellence. Bowl season isn’t just about the games. It’s about the journeys, the iconic destinations, and the traditions that make college football special.

As we close the book on another successful postseason, we’re grateful for the partners who continue to trust SET year after year with their most important travel moments.

Start to the Season

August was a whirlwind of gridiron energy as we kicked off both Week 0 and Week 1 of the college football season. Our team had the privilege of curating unforgettable travel experiences, including trips for fans of Texas at Ohio State, Alabama at Florida State, and Georgia Tech at Colorado. It’s always a joy to immerse fans in the thrill and traditions of the opening weekend!

On the field, storylines unfolded quickly. Ohio State’s defense delivered a 14–7 upset over preseason No. 1 Texas, neutralizing Arch Manning and setting the tone for the Big Ten’s early dominance. Florida State shook the college football world by routing No. 8 Alabama, marking the Tide’s first season-opening defeat since 2001. Meanwhile, LSU knocked off Clemson, and Miami edged Notre Dame, solidifying a primed and unpredictable season.

Lee Corso’s Perfect Farewell

One of the most memorable moments of Week 1 was witnessed on College GameDay: Lee Corso’s final appearance after more than four decades in the broadcast booth. Wearing a tuxedo and ultimately choosing the Brutus Buckeye headgear, Corso’s final pick proved spot-on. But that wasn’t all: he went 6 for 6 on his predictions, correctly identifying upsets and outcomes across the weekend, including calling Florida State’s triumph over Alabama and LSU over Clemson. What a way to go out!

Team Perspective

For SET, August was more than just kickoff. It was a celebration of fans, tradition, and the beginning of our favorite season. Meeting fans in stadiums, sharing iconic college rituals, and reigniting partnerships energized our team and reaffirmed why travel, sport, and storytelling go hand in hand.

What’s Next in September?

September shapes up to be a treasure trove of marquee matchups and memorable weekends. We’re gearing up for:

  • Texas A&M at Notre Dame — A meeting of tradition-rich programs that promise high stakes and electric atmospheres.
  • Ohio State at Washington — A cross-country showdown featuring one of the season’s early powerhouses.

College Football is back in full swing, and we’re thrilled to be back on the road with our fans and partners. Here’s to an awesome September of camaraderie, celebration, and a little college football chaos!

June brought a perfect blend of baseball fun and football planning here at SET. From the green fields of Fenway to the electric energy of Yankee Stadium, we hosted our annual Historic Baseball Tour, giving fans an unforgettable experience through the heart of America’s pastime. At the same time, our team has been hard at work behind the scenes gearing up for an exciting fall filled with college football.

A Baseball Bucket List Experience

Our Historic Baseball Tour took guests on a one-of-a-kind journey through Boston, Cooperstown, and New York City. Along the way, guests explored the roots of America’s game and checked off two legendary stadiums in one unforgettable week.

The trip began in Boston, where guests took in the historic sights and caught a classic rivalry matchup at Fenway Park between the Red Sox and the Yankees. From there, we made our way to Cooperstown, home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, where the group immersed themselves in the stories and legends of the sport. The trip wrapped up in New York City with a visit to Yankee Stadium to experience another big game from the stands of one of the sport’s most iconic venues.

Behind the Scenes: Gearing Up for Fall

While baseball took center field this month, our team has also been laying the groundwork for what’s next. Fall football weekends are just around the corner, and we’ve been deep in planning mode! Finalizing details, meeting with partners, and preparing new experiences for fans across the country has us buzzing for what’s to come.

Looking ahead to July, we’ll be gathering as a team for our annual SET Staff Retreat, a chance to reconnect, regroup, and align for the busy season to come. We’ll also be attending industry conferences, continuing to build and strengthen relationships with our partners and clients.

The city’s vibrant energy paired perfectly with the intensity of the tournament, and watching the Red Raiders fight on the big stage was an experience none of us will soon forget.

South Carolina In Tampa
The madness continued into April with the University of South Carolina Gamecocks for the Women’s Final Four in Tampa. With chartered airfare, a spirited welcome event, and an electric pregame celebration, this trip was a hit. Being there in person to support the Gamecocks was a memorable celebration of women’s sports at its finest!

Beyond our trips to San Francisco and Tampa, we were honored to work alongside several incredible clients throughout March Madness. We’re proud to partner with some of the best teams in college basketball, with programs that not only compete at the highest level but also bring their fans along for every unforgettable moment. While our teams may not have taken home the championship trophies this year, being part of their journey, sharing the excitement, and helping create lasting memories is what it’s all about.
